Twitter Strategies: Sponsored Tweets

Sponsored Tweets is a Twitter Strategy to do one thing and one thing only: make you money. All you have to do is sign up for the Sponsored Tweets program. Caveat: You will need a minimum of 200 Twitter followers before you can participate in the Sponsored Tweets program. Once you sign up for the program, you enter your information and select the price you are willing to except for tweeting an advertisers’ message to your Twitter followers. Sponsored Tweets will evaluate your account, tweet frequency, etc. and offer you a default price to charge for your sponsored tweets. You do not have to except this price. Experiment with your price and see which one works best. My advice, aim high then come down in your price. Do not short change yourself.

Once an advertiser selects you to publish a tweet on their behalf, you will be sent an email alerting you to the fact. Be sure to click the “If me tweets underperform…” option in you control panel. Having this option selected will make you more attractive to advertisers. If your ad underperforms, with option enabled, your tweet will be retweeted up to 2 more times until it reaches the required CPC (Cost Per Click) within 48 hours. Do not worry, you will still be paid for the initial tweet.
