How to Attend New York Comic Con as a Film Critic and get a Press Badge is a simple process. Attending the New York Comic Con is important to a movie critic and a webmaster because multiple interview opportunities are available with actors and directors attending the convention, movie trailers are shown for the first time there, there are film/TV panels, and photos and posters for upcoming TV and film projects are premiered.

Background on the New York Comic Con:

[Usually held in October,] The New York Comic Con is an annual New York City fan convention dedicated to comics, graphic novels, anime, manga, video games, toys, movies, and television…The New York Comic Con is a for-profit event produced and managed by ReedPOP, a division of Reed Exhibitions and Reed Elsevier…Starting in 2010 the New York Anime Festival has been held with the New York Comic Con, bringing the two cultures together.

Please be aware that:

*Your Press Badge allows access as long as space is permitting.
*Your Press Badge does not allow early access, special access, or guaranteed seating.
*Your Press Badge does not allow you to cut lines.
*Your Press Badge will not allow access into any events requiring an additional ticket beyond a general entry badge. Should you wish access to a special, ticketed event, you must first have your 2012 NYCC Press Badge application approved, and you must then request access for specific ticketed events directly with NYCC’s Press Office.
*Complimentary Press Badges are extended as a courtesy of New York Comic Con. Each is issued individually and non-transferable. You may not transfer or sell your NYCC Press Badge, and any individuals conducting such behavior will be disqualified from Press Badges at future ReedPOP events.

Press Badges are limited in nature and issued only to professionally employed adults. Badges are not issued to children, family, or guests.
